Addiction is an inability to stop using a substance or engaging in a behaviour even though it may cause psychological or physical harm. Very often these behaviours or substances provide a short term reward or "high" but in the long term they can be damaging to physical and/or mental health or both & often the addict has to engage in these activites for a prolonged lenghth of time or at a more intense level to achieve the same reward. Even seemingly healthy activities such as exercise can become an addiction. If you are concerned that you have an addiction alway seek medical advise or contact us at support@peopleatwork.co.uk
